On point…playful and pragmatic

Blair Smith Professor of Marketing

Why is marketing so misunderstood?

Because there is no end to the number of marketing “strategists” and “ninjas” acting like snake-oil salespeople peddling the latest marketing buzzwords, clickbait and jargon; just trying to get heard.

Because it’s easier to be seduced by the superficial–producing advertising campaigns, taking selfies and tracking social media likes–than to invest in the substance of marketing.

Because isn’t about products or services, it’s about people–who are f@#k!ng complicated, who don’t act rationally, whose decisions can’t be automated or optimized.

If you need somebody to demystify marketing then we should talk.

Speaking | Workshops

My genuine enthusiasm for and thoughtful opinions on marketing, infused with a playful nature, results in a voice that you won’t find in another facilitator, interview guest, panel member or speaker.

I’ve got an ear and eye on the current topics and trends in marketing–with focus on personal branding, marketing strategy and analytics, content marketing and social media marketing.

Blair is a great speaker–he’s enthusiastic about marketing and social media, and it comes through in his presentation. He made our seminar fun and engaging and gave us some amazing handouts as takeaways. Even as intermediate-level marketing communicators, Blair was able to give us insights and teach us things that will change the way we work going forward.
