I often get asked: “Blair, what social media marketing podcasts you listen to and would recommend?” Well, here they are. There’s one thing you need to know before reading on. I don’t do laundry list posts of the top 79,472 of something. I think they’re more confusing a.f. then helpful, and nobody has time to go through all the options. Just like gold-silver-bronze or 1st-2nd-3rd place; these are the top 3 podium-worthy social media marketing podcasts that I listen to at least a couple of episodes each month.
The Science of Social Media podcast
Your weekly sandbox for social media stories, insights, experimentation, and learning.
Social media management software company Buffer has a fantastic content marketing program. One of the pillars of it is The Science of Social Media podcast. On the podcast, they discuss ways to implement social media marketing strategies and use social networks across industries. It offers a nice mix of strategic thinking and insights with more tactical tips.
The Science of Social Media podcast is a multi-host discussion and interview format with quick, to the point episodes that run for ~30 minutes.
Social Media Marketing podcast
You’ll discover success stories and expert interviews from leading social media marketing pros.
Social Media Examiner is a multi-platform media brand founded by Michael Stelzner that proclaims to be “the world’s largest social media marketing resource”. I don’t know if it’s THE largest…but it’s pretty darn good. The Social Media Marketing podcast is hosted by Michael Stelzner himself. Similar to The Science of Social Media; on this podcast, they discuss ways to implement social media marketing strategies and use social networks across industries. I find it’s more focused on tactics and tips for how to better use each of the main social networks for marketing.
The Social Media Marketing podcast uses both individual host storytelling and interview formats, with episodes that run for ~45-minutes.
Social Pros podcast
You get the inside stories and behind-the-scenes secrets about how companies like Ford, Dell, IBM, ESPN, and dozens more staff, operate, and measure their social media programs.
This is part of the Convince & Convert multi-platform media brand founded by Jay Baer. The Social Pros podcast has been recognized as the best podcast at the Content Marketing Awards. They promise a lot of real: real insights from real people doing real work in social media. I like it for the more strategic marketing thought leadership it delivers.
The Social Pros podcast is a multi-host interview format, with episodes that run for ~45-minutes.
So there you have it. Those are my top 3 podium-worthy social media marketing podcasts. But they’re not the only podcasts out there. Do you have a #4 to recommend? Or maybe one that’s so good it deserves a place on the podium…and knocks off one of these top 3? Share it and say why in the comments or Tweet me @blairaasmith.
